East of England Co-op open second new Ipswich Food Store in two weeks!

East of England Co-op are delighted to announce their brand-new Food Store on Woodbridge Road has now opened. Following on from the successful opening of their Ipswich Station food store on Wednesday 4 June, Woodbridge Road becomes the regional retailer’s newest Food Store. 

The store, situated at the site of the former Renault garage, has replaced the East of England Co-op’s previous Food store at 337 Woodbridge Road (Brunswick Road). Colleagues from the Brunswick Road store have transferred to the new Food store and the retailer is exploring future opportunities for the former store’s location. Inside the new store, customers can experience a range of new services including the East of England Co-op's in-store bakery and hot food offering. The store also features Barista Bar coffee-to-go, freshly squeezed orange juice from iSqueeze, Fwip ice cream and Tango Ice Blast. 

The brand-new Woodbridge Road Food Store provides ample parking for customers visiting the store as well as four Electric Vehicle Charging stations. The roof of the new store is also fitted with solar panels, reaffirming the East of England Co-op's commitment to sustainable retailing. 

Chief Executive Officer for the East of England Co-op, Andy Rigby said: “We’re on a roll with store openings and reopening's, following our recent opening at Ipswich Station and the reopening's of our Holbrook and Capel St Mary Food Stores. Our brand-new Woodbridge Road Food Store is another example of not only the superb momentum our teams have created but another fantastic Food Store we have delivered for the local community.

With many new features, sustainable elements and the transfer of colleagues from our former Brunswick Road Food Store, our Woodbridge Road Food Store highlights our commitment to do the right thing by our local communities.” 

The East of England Co-op has also announced plans to open new Food stores in, East Bergholt, Thetford and Hellesdon, as it continues to invest in its local communities and reshape its business portfolio. 

The East of England Co-op is owned by its members and is driven by its commitment to supporting local communities. The retailer is currently fundraising for more than 100 different charities across the East of England through its Local Giving Summer campaign. Throughout Local Giving, Woodbridge Road will be fundraising for St Elizabeth Hospice.
