The Wivenhoe Tempest FC Under 10’s are proudly showing-off their new kit this season, thanks to a funding boost from sponsors our Funeral Services.
Coach Luke Harrison, a Funeral Director at the Wimpole Road Funeral branch in Colchester, is delighted with the new kit.
He said: “This funding means so much to the team. Being able to provide them with a quality kit really makes them look and feel the part, boosting their confidence on and off the pitch. It’s created a lot of buzz amongst the players and their parents.
“The kids love seeing the East of England Co-op logo on the shops. We’ve been really lucky to have received further funding through the East of England Co-op’s Community Token Scheme with customers choosing to support us with their tokens.”
Luke has been coaching the team for the past five years and says he loves nothing more than seeing them improve. He said “As well as the Under 10’s team, I also coach the Under 6’s and Under 7’s. It’s a great feeling seeing them all smile. We also do a lot for charity raising money for the local St Helena Hospice which is also a great achievement.”
Wivenhoe Tempest FC was founded in 2016, as a result of the merger of Wivenhoe Youth (est. 1977) and Tempest FC (est. 1993). The Club develops young local footballers, with 21 youth teams from under 6 up to under 18. Training takes place during the week and at weekends, with matches on Sundays at Broadlane.
