Beer lovers invited to join local virtual beer tasting with Adnams and the East of England Co-op
A special online event is being hosted by the region’s largest independent retailer, the East of England Co-op this week, to celebrate local beer.
The latest ‘Your Co-op Live’ takes place at 7pm on Friday 9th September on the East of England Co-op’s Facebook page, where they will be joined live by beer expert Fergus Fitzgerald, Head of Production at Adnams brewery and distillery who will deliver a virtual beer tasting.
Fergus will talk viewers through the process that goes into creating the beers and the best ways to taste them. Beers expected to be sampled include Adnams Ghostship, Adnams Broadside, Adnams Southwold Bitter, Adnams Ease Up IPA and Three Counties Pale Ale, a collaboration brew between Norfolk Brewhouse, Mersea Island Brewery and Nethergate Brewery.
Three Counties Pale Ale was created exclusively for the East of England Co-op this summer in celebration of the retailer’s award-winning Sourced Locally scheme. The three breweries featured represent the three counties the East of England Co-op has shops in – Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.
There will also be an opportunity for the audience to submit questions live that will be answered throughout the show.
Fergus commented: “Tasting our beers is of course one of my favourite parts of the job and I take it very seriously. During our live online tasting I will walk viewers through the tasting process, from the smell of the hops to the flavour of the malt, to help beer lovers savour every drop.”
Lewis Upson at the East of England Co-op, said: “This is expected to be one of our most popular Your Co-op Live shows to date, so get your questions in for Fergus on our Facebook page quickly.”
All beers being sampled are available to buy from selected East of England Co-op stores and Adnams brews directly from the Adnams website.
