Caister Funeral Branch Supports Lifeboat Station to Raise Funds
On 8th February the East of England Co-op Funeral Services invited people to join them for a Co-op Cuppa and cake to raise funds for Caister Lifeboat.
Supported entirely by public donations, £126 was raised at the event at Caister Lifeboat Station on Tan Lane.
Katie Rogers, Funeral Arranger and Branch Manager said: “The service the Caister Lifeboat station provides for the local community is invaluable. A small donation to such a worthwhile charity, makes such a big difference, and we are only too glad to help.”
The idea for the event was formed after the Caister funeral branch started working closely with the lifeboat station on a service to help the bereaved scatter their loved ones’ ashes at sea.
Secretary at Caister Lifeboat Station, Derek George, added: “Caister is one of only two offshore lifeboat stations in the UK that is independent of the RNLI. We operate entirely thanks to volunteers and public donations, so we are extremely grateful to the East of England Co-op for this much-needed support.”
