East of England Co-op announces plans for new Food store in East Bergholt

The East of England Co-op have today announced plans to open a brand-new Food store in the new Hills Residential housing development in East Bergholt.  

The larger and more modern store will host a wider range of products and services as well as provide on-site parking.  

Once open, this new store will replace the current East of England Co-op Food store in The Street, with all colleagues relocating. The current store is owned by the East of England Co-op, who will be exploring opportunities for the site.  

Doug Field OBE, Chief Executive Officer for the East of England Co-op said: “We’re proud to continue our commitment to the community of East Bergholt, and to provide them with a new, bigger and better store to match the growing population in the village.”  

This is the fourth new store the retailer has announced so far this year, with new Food stores planned for Bishop’s Stortford, Thetford and Ipswich Station. 

The new East of England Co-op Food store in St. James Place is scheduled to open late 2025.
