The East of England Co-op has shared its plans to open three new branches as it continues to expand its services into new locations.

This month will see the opening of a new East of England Co-op Funeral Services branch in Thetford, Norfolk and an East of England Co-op Travel branch in Woodbridge, Suffolk. Plans have also been announced for a new Food store, set to open in Bishop’s Stortford in Hertfordshire this summer marking a move into another new county, following their successful expansion into Cambridgeshire last year.

Doug Field OBE, Chief Executive at the East of England Co-op, said: “These three new branch openings are just the first of several we’re looking to open as we further expand our geographic reach and enhance our offering to our local communities. This is an important year for our co-op as we make progress towards a stronger and sustainable future. We’re really looking forward to welcoming our members and customers when we open our doors.”

Monday 20 May will see the opening of the East of England Co-op’s first Funeral branch in Thetford on Bury Road. The branch will offer expert advice on multi-faith funeral arrangements, bereavement support and pre-paid funeral plans.

On Thursday 30 May, the East of England Co-op will open a new Travel branch within its current Food store on Hamblin Walk in Woodbridge. As an independent travel agent, the branch will offer a wide range of holidays as well as providing expert and impartial advice on holiday bookings, travel insurance, currency exchange and guidance on destinations for those with health requirements.

Later this summer, the East of England Co-op will open its first Food store in Hertfordshire in its 155-year history. Following the successful opening of its first Food stores in Cambridgeshire last year, this will see the independent retailer’s trading estate extend across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
