The East of England Co-op are delighted to announce that it’s opening a brand-new convenience store, located in Ipswich Train Station. The new store will be accessible from the main concourse of the station, on the Great Eastern Main Line which spans Norwich to London Liverpool Street.

This is the third new convenience store the retailer has announced so far this year, with further new Food stores planned for Bishop’s Stortford and Thetford. They’ve also opened a new funeral branch and Travel branch this year, as it continues to reshape its family of businesses.

The new 1,500 sq. ft. cashless store will feature two Barista Coffee-to-go machines, the East of England Co-op's popular in-store bakery, Tango Ice Blast dispenser and Fwip Ice Cream dispenser. It will also stock chilled beers, ciders, wines and ready to drink cocktails.

Doug Field OBE, Chief Executive Officer for the East of England Co-op said: “We’re thrilled to be opening a food store at Ipswich Station, during what is an exciting time for the town and county.

“We’re looking forward to meeting our new customers, commuters and thousands of football fans visiting the town to watch Premier League football at Portman Road.

“At the East of England Co-op, it’s important to us to provide our customers with exciting products, exceptional customer service as well as access to our community outreach programmes.”

The East of England Co-op is owned by its members and is driven by its commitment to supporting local communities. In a jobs boost for the town, the East of England Co-op will be recruiting Customer Service Assistants and Team Managers.
