Pancake Day is just around the corner, marking the countdown to Easter – and after a long tough winter that’s something to celebrate.
So, what exactly is Pancake Day? Traditionally it’s a time to feast and use up ingredients not eaten during the 40 days of lent such as eggs, fats and dairy. Each year, Pancake Day falls on a Tuesday, this year it’s on 16th February, with the exact date depending on when Easter is. Ash Wednesday (the day after pancake day) marks the start of lent and culminates in Easter Sunday, which falls on 4th April this year.
With lockdown still set to last a while longer, this year’s Pancake Day is the perfect opportunity to indulge and have some fun in the kitchen.
