The East of England Co-op at Bramford have partnered with local Public House the Bramford Cock to provide a pop-up shop for the local community whilst the food store is closed for refurbishment from 10pm, Sunday 3 November to Thursday 28 November.

From 4 November, the pop-up shop will be open Monday to Saturday from 7am to 12noon for residents to pop in and pick up their essentials. Although a limited range, products will include greengrocery, dairy, meat and bakery goods, as well as some medicines, cleaning products, pet food and newspapers.

Brendan Smith, Head of Retail for the East of England Co-op, said: “We’re very pleased to be working with the team at the Bramford Cock to provide residents, members and customers with a range of essential items whilst we carry out refurbishment works.”

Angela Peters, Landlady at the Bramford Cock, said: “The village of Bramford is a small close-knit community and whenever help is needed the village comes together to do their best for each other. The Co-op and the pub are at the heart of the community, so it seems natural to help the Co-op provide a smaller service while their store is being refitted.

“Myself and my team are looking forward to working with our friends at the Co-op and I’m sure we will all do our best to help the community through the next few weeks and we all look forward to the newly refurbished store opening on the 28 November.”

The new look East of England Co-op store is scheduled to re-open on Thursday 28 November at 9am.

Brendan continued: “Returning customers will be welcomed by the same team, with great new additions including a coffee machine, in-store bakery and hot food-to-go. The refurbishment also enables us to decrease our stores impact on the environment, with new LED lighting, fridges and freezers.”

The temporary pop-up shop will be open Monday to Saturday, 7am to 12noon from Monday 4 November to Wednesday 27 November.
