Family fun day for Haverhill community

In this section

The Haverhill community is invited to come together to enjoy a family fun day at St Mary the Virgin Church, in aid of Haverhill in Bloom.

Taking place on Saturday 9 September between 11am and 3pm, families will be able to enjoy a great range of activities including games for children, face painting, plant and gardening stools, a tombola and a chance to throw sponges at those in the stocks.

The inaugural event is being organised by the team at the East of England Co-op Funeral Services branch in Haverhill to help raise money for the town. David Downes, from the East of England Co-op Funeral Services branch in Haverhill, said: “We’re really excited to be organising this event, which we hope will be great fun for all the family. We’re encouraging people to bring along a picnic and enjoy the great outdoors, whilst fun and games will keep little ones occupied.

“Money raised at the event will be put towards the running of Haverhill in Bloom to enable them to continue their excellent work.”

Haverhill in Bloom was formed in 2004, using flowers and landscaping to create a welcoming environment for those living and working in the town.

The family fun day is free to attend. For more information visit the East of England Co-op Funeral Services at 27 High Street, Haverhill.
