East of England Co-op ‘adopts’ tortoise in support of local charity
The local retailer shows their support for the Eye Art Trail in aid of The Blossom Charity
The East of England Co-op has joined the 2021 Eye Art Trail with their beautifully designed tortoise sculpture, in support of The Blossom Charity.
Named ‘Armour D’Armour’, the tortoise is located just a short walk from the East of England Co-op Eye Food store at the Red House near the Town Hall.
In collaboration with a local artist, Kate Charles, the tortoise was designed to represent optimism, hope and looking ahead after the past 18 months.
Kate, said: “My design considers the Tortoises’ emergence from hibernation. Not longing for what was lost but learning from what was gained. The joy of carrying your heart, and your home with you.”
In aid of The Blossom Charity, the trail features 26 locally sponsored tortoise and hare sculptures, dotted around the Suffolk town for the community and visitors to enjoy. The trail is on from 8 July to 10 September with the sculptures being auctioned on the 16 September with all the funds going to the local charity.
