Animal welfare In this section Environmental Sustainability Our Rules We know that animal welfare is a priority for many of our customers and members, so we work hard to ensure that the animals in our direct supply chain experience consistently high welfare standards. As a minimum, all our directly supplied meat, poultry and milk must be produced on farms independently certified by Assured Food Standards, e.g. Red Tractor, or by another independent body with equivalent standards. Suppliers to the East of England Co-op must comply with all relevant UK animal welfare legislation and must meet the UK Farm Animal Welfare Council recommendations.
