Brandy butter or cream? (or any other serving suggestions)

Well, Christmas puddings can be enjoyed with cream, brandy Butter, or custard.  I would say that brandy butter is the first choice as we make Cole’s Brandy Butter in both 220g and 42g jars.

What have been the highlights from your partnership with the East of England Co-op this year?

This year we have continued to supply the twin pack steamed puddings which we have now been supplying for many years.  This year we have also supplied the Brandy Christmas pudding in the individual 112g weight.

What does 2022 hold for Cole’s?

We’ll continue to grow our Own Label business, working together with our customers to ensure 2022 is a profitable as possible without comprising on quality and service.  We are also looking into different type of packaging that are more environmentally friendly.  We hope that by 2023 we will have removed or dramatically reduced the use of plastics, cellophanes, cloths, and non-biodegradable packaging. We are currently changing the Classic range of pudding and removing the cloth steamer bags and replacing this with a NatureFlex wrap and card retail box.  Many other lines are also changing next year moving into card boxes.

What steps are Coles taking for a more sustainable future?

As mentioned above we are looking at packaging and how we wrap and seal our puddings.  We are also looking at ingredients and have for many years been using Vegetable Suet made from certified, sustainable Palm Oil.  We firmly believe that the answer is not to remove and completely stop using Palm Oil, as the replacement alternative are more damaging to the environment.  Its better to be supporting the certified, sustainable Palm Oil.
