Burnham-on-Crouch celebrates a new look store after short closure

On Thursday 12 July, over a hundred people queued outside the newly refurbished East of England Co-op store in Burnham-on-Crouch on Foundry Lane so they could get a glimpse.

The store was closed for two days while a team worked hard to bring a new lease of life to the store.

The morning kick started at 9.30am when 100 golden envelopes were given out to eagerly waiting customers. They were rewarded with prizes ranging from store vouchers for the East of England Co-op, vouchers for M&Co, spiralizers, smoothie makers, a £25 voucher from The Oyster Smack Inn, a voucher for a gel manicure and Indian head massage from La Beauty Paradise, along with a 40” television. There was also a prize draw to win a £500 short break from the East of England Co-op Travel team.

Throughout the morning, delicious gluten free cupcakes from local bakery Little Cherub Bakery were given away to customers, while they were entertained by music from traditional jazz band; Jazz Expressions. Local supplier Dan Hull attended, giving away free samples of his tasty range.

The East of England Co-op Travel team in Burnham-on-Crouch also celebrated their move within the store, and welcomed customers to look around their new home.

As part of the 150th celebrations, limited edition scratch cards were handed out, giving customers the chance to win 1 of 200,000 prizes, as well as the chance to be entered into a draw to win a Toyota Yaris.
