Level 3 Retail Team Leader

What was your favourite part of your Apprenticeship?
What I enjoyed most about my Apprenticeship was learning new skills and the opportunities it has given me.

I was really pleased to be successfully nominated to join the Young Apprentice Ambassador Network (YAAN).

YAAN is a community of current and former Apprentices who champion and help promote Apprenticeships, by sharing our own stories and experiences. As an Ambassador, I've received extra training in giving presentations and networking to help with my role.

Why did you choose an Apprenticeship?

I chose to do an Apprenticeship as it was a great opportunity to further my own self-development.

What would you say are the benefits of an Apprenticeship?

Personally, my Apprenticeship has given me the opportunity to develop as a person and build on my self-confidence.

I've also gained lots of knowledge about the retail industry and operating procedures. It's great to be able to learn as you work.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about doing an Apprenticeship?

Do your research. Look into the courses that you are interested in so you fully understand what is involved.

What one piece of advice would you give another Apprentice?

You only get out what you put in. It takes a lot of hard work and determination to achieve the end goal, but it's worth it. Since completing my Apprenticeship I've been promoted to Team Manager.

What are your future plans?

Once I have developed in my current role, I would like to progress on to the Branch Manager Apprenticeship.
