Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager

What is your favourite part of your Apprenticeship?

My favourite part is putting into action what I am learning, which has been invaluable in my first steps into management. Meeting colleagues on the same apprenticeship and listening to their views and how they manage has been enjoyable too.

What made you choose an Apprenticeship?

I said yes to the Apprenticeship as my employer asked me to do the course. The belief that has been shown in me for the Apprenticeship makes my desire to complete it even greater.

What has your Apprenticeship enabled you to do?

I am learning all the time and whatever I am learning I can put into practice in my everyday role. It has massively changed the way I manage my team. I have learnt different methods, theories and ways of reaching personal and team goals.

What do you think are the benefits of doing an Apprenticeship?

Learning, meeting new people and having a good grounding for my future career.

What would you say to anyone who is thinking about doing an Apprenticeship?

Do it! It is a great opportunity. The more you put into it the more you get out of it!

What one piece of advice would you give another Apprentice?

Be organised and make the time to do the work. Understand what you have to do and if not, ask.

What are your future plans?

My immediate plan is to complete the apprenticeship to the best standard I can. To keep learning and improving as a manager.
