The East of England Co-op has confirmed that work is set to begin next week on its new Hellesdon Food store and Travel branch, ahead of opening this December.
East of England Co-op can confirm that their brand-new Ipswich Station Food store will open at 5:30am on Wednesday, 4 June. Situated in the former ticket office on the left-hand side of the station entrance, the new store will offer commuters and visitors to the station a convenient and modern shopping experience.
Customers will be able to enjoy the convenience of Barista Coffee-to-Go machines, a fresh in-store bakery, and a Fwip Ice Cream dispenser. As part of a commitment to responsible retailing, the store will also limit alcohol sales on home and away match days in agreement with Suffolk Police.
The new 1,500 sq. ft. Ipswich Station store will be a first for the East of England Co-op with a fully cashless system, embracing a seamless customer journey.
Andy Rigby, Chief Executive Officer for the East of England Co-op said: “We’re delighted to be opening our latest food store at Ipswich Station. This high-footfall location is a fantastic opportunity for us to bring our trusted East of England Co-op offering to busy commuters and visitors to the town.
“With an emphasis on convenience, quality, and speed, we’ve tailored this store to meet the needs of modern travellers while maintaining our commitment to great service and top-quality products.”
Having been with the East of England Co-op for the past 19 years, the new store will benefit from the management of Alex Foulger. Alex said: “It’s incredibly exciting to be named as the branch manager for our new flagship store right here at Ipswich Station. It’s a great opportunity to bring the East of England Co-op’s fantastic on-the-go offering to such a prominent and busy location. I can’t wait to welcome customers through the doors, become part of their daily routine and a part of something special right at the heart of the town.”
The East of England Co-op is owned by its members and is driven by its commitment to supporting local communities. The retailer has donated over £1 million to good causes in East Anglia over the last three years.
