East of England Co-op launches new store in Kesgrave, creating 22 new jobs for local workers
Today (Thursday 15 October) the East of England Co-op has opened its brand-new store on Grange Farm, Kesgrave.
The regional retailer has built the site from the ground up using local contractors, Elliston Steady and Hawes. The society's President and local businesswoman, Mandy Errington was on site last December when work began.
The 3,000 sq ft store, led by long-standing East of England Co-op colleague Tina Page, is stocked with fresh food, everyday essentials and extensive food-to-go offering complete with Barista Bar's latest coffee machine which serves over 100 different combinations of coffee, both hot, cold, matcha tea and milkshakes.
The store is also home to the retailers popular in-store bakery, serving freshly baked goods everyday as well as a hot food offering for those looking to eat on-the-go. Parcel services are also available at the store, provided by Evri.
Andy Rigby, Chief Executive Officer for the East of England Co-op said: "I'm proud to see our brand-new Kesgrave Food store open. Our teams have provided the community with a first-class food store and first-class team, led by Tina, to serve them every day.
"At the East of England Co-op, we're always looking for ways to invest in our communities and grow our business, I can see no better example of this in action than our new Kesgrave Food store."
This is the East of England Co-op's first new store this. In 2025 the regional retailer opened two new stores in nearby town Ipswich, one inside Ipswich Station and the other on Woodbridge Road.
The new Kesgrave store is open 7am-10pm Monday to Sunday.
The East of England Co-op is investing for long-term impact through new store openings, improvements to existing sites and the development of innovative services. As a member-owned business, it’s committed to supporting the communities it serves, while building a strong future as an independent and sustainable retailer.
