Applications are now open for community groups and good causes across the region to receive part of a £110,000 fund announced by the East of England Co-op.
The East of England Co-op Community Cares Fund is a charitable initiative first established by the East of England Co-op in 2020. The Community Cares Fund provides financial grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 to initiatives that address 'community cohesion and integration' and aims to support people in playing an active part in their communities to reduce barriers and inequalities and improve social contact and experiences.
Since its launch in 2020, East of England Co-op’s Community Cares Fund has directly helped more than 146,000 local people. This year alone, the retailer has supported over 600 charities and organisations across Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire, through Community Cares Fund, Local Giving or other community programmes.
Charities or community groups can apply for funding online and will need to show they are working towards one or more of the following:
- Improved access to social activities for all
- Reduction in feelings of isolation and improved wellbeing

- Provided information, advice or guidance to maximise income
