What is a Direct Cremation Plus?

Direct cremations or simple cremations are a type of funeral that does not include a ceremony to attend. This means you can celebrate your loved one's life at a time and place that feels most personal to you.

Direct to Cremation Plus is suitable for those who do not want a formal funeral service, but would like the opportunity to say a simple farewell to their loved one.

We will care for your loved one with respect at one of our Chapels of Rest, where you will be available to visit them while they are in our care. They will then be taken to a local crematorium of our choice by private ambulance. There is no ceremony, and you will be unable to attend your loved one's cremation.

As with all of funeral packages, your loved one will receive the highest standard of care from our skilled and professional team.

Direct Cremation Plus Costs: £1,895

Direct cremation is a more affordable option when planning funeral arrangements for your loved one. A coffin and the third-party crematorium fee is included, so there is nothing more to pay.

We also offer a pre-paid plan for direct cremation plus, meaning that you can pre-arrange and pay for an unattended simple cremation, at no additional expense when the time comes.

What's Included

Our full professional services, including making all necessary arrangements, taking care of official documentation, advice and guidance on certification and registration.
Collection of your loved one with a 30 mile radius of any East of England Co-op Funeral Services branch.
Care of your loved one in one of our Chapels of Rest (24-hour freephone careline service).
Dressing of your loved one in either a simple white gown or their own clothes.
A wood effect veneered coffin.
1 visit to spend time with your loved one before their cremation by appointment only, Monday to Friday 10am - 4pm.
Cremation at a local crematorium and transport by a private ambulance.
A scatter tube or casket for your loved one's ashes. Choose from four different scatter tube designs or from our wooden ashes casket range.
Collection of your loved one's ashes from your local East of England Co-op Funeral Services branch.
Invitation to an online remembrance service.
We'll collect charitable donations in memory of your loved one through our online tribute service.
The option to upgrade the coffin at an additional cost.
The option for your loved one to be embalmed at an additional cost.
The option to use any East of England Co-op service hall for a remembrance service for an additional cost after the cremation has taken place.

What's Not Included

Family members or mourners attending your loved one's cremation
Choosing the date or time of the cremation. You will not be advised of the date of the cremation until it has taken place.
Delivery of your loved one's ashes to a local address.
Any transport over 30 miles from one of our funeral branches, additional charges will apply.
