When the Recovery Hub, an innovative addiction treatment centre, needed new premises we offered a building plus help with rent and set-up costs to get them started.
When the Recovery Hub Ipswich, the innovative addiction treatment centre, needed a new home the East of England Co-op were there to give real, practical help.
“To be offered a building plus help with rent and set-up costs was just fantastic and almost too good to be true,” says centre director Simon Alders.
“A couple of years ago the Co-op acquired an old Victorian pub in Ipswich and, knowing we needed somewhere, suggested we came and had a look. The building was in an ideal location and, with some refurbishment, would provide us with exactly what we needed to offer the right level of care and short stay accommodation.”
Building work started in 2015 and the centre received welcome additional assistance from a number of Co-op suppliers who also very generously helped with the installation of services, CCTV, etc. Recovery Hub Ipswich opened in April 2016 and now provides affordable and highly effective addiction treatment for up to 17 residents.

“Our mission is to provide treatment at a price that is market leading. Working with the Co-op is great because our values of affordable quality and community involvement are very closely aligned.
“We are extremely grateful to the Co-op for their continuing help and involvement. Its involvement with our centre is an excellent example of a big company taking its corporate responsibility very seriously; and actually doing something positive for the community in general.”
