Lane Farm Country Foods
Perfect pork from a Suffolk family farm
Lane Farm Country Foods in Brundish is a family-run enterprise producing some of Suffolk’s most succulent sausages, heavenly ham and beautiful bacon – all from happy, home-reared pigs.
The welfare of their pigs is the most important thing to hardworking owners Ian and Sue Whitehead. They originally bought the Suffolk farm in 1987 to produce specialist stock to supply farmers in the UK and abroad with breeding pigs. Then in 1995, inspired by a love of fine local produce, the couple diversified, converting an old dairy into an EEC-approved small butchery.
The family farm supplies many of our stores around the region as part of our Sourced Locally range. This has helped the business to grow steadily in the last few years, including opening up job opportunities for a new generation.
A family affair
Today Lane Farm is a family run enterprise, with daughters Sarah and Rebecca playing a central role in the production of award-winning pork products, including ham, sausages and burgers, using only the finest and freshest meat reared on the farm itself.

“We are so proud to be able to supply - and feel part of - the East of England Co-op. We have grown our businesses together and Lane Farm Country Foods wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them."
The feeling is mutual! We are proud to have Lane Farm as a Sourced Locally supplier - the family has such a passion for great quality, local food. Their love of experimenting has allowed them to be innovative, expanding their range so it now includes smoked products, air-dried salami, chorizo and pancetta. In fact, Lane Farm’s bacon is dry-cured by hand and is a genuine labour of love.
