It's bigger and better for local brass band

The Ipswich and Norwich Co-operative Brass Band have proudly changed their name to the East of England Co-op Band, in recognition of our on-going support and for providing a new and improved rehearsal space, free of charge.

The band, which was formed in 1982, has been supported by the East of England Co-op for over 20 years. To show our continued support for the group, we've provided them with a new rehearsal space on Paul's Road, Ipswich.

Following their first rehearsal in their new home, Ian Burton said: "The band is really pleased to have moved to Paul's Road which offers us a much improved rehearsal facility and environment. The larger space means that we can have our music library always available, large percussion instruments can be set up permanently and the other rooms offer us alternative rehearsal space.

"We're really looking forward to settling into our new home and performing under our new name, the East of England Co-op Band."

Players of all ages travel from across East Anglia and further afield, to take part in weekly rehearsals. As well as performing locally, the band also takes part in various competitions and are looking forward to recording their new CD in the coming months.
