Free bereavement support group launches in Norfolk
Long Stratton and the surrounding communities have access to a new free bereavement support service thanks to the East of England Co-op Funeral Services.
Their first bereavement support group in Norfolk, the monthly meetings will take place the first Tuesday of each month from 10.30am to 12pm at the Long Stratton Village Hall.
Bereavement Support Co-ordinator Rebecca Louis will facilitate the group which launches on Tuesday 6 March. She explained: “Bereavement can cause various emotions, ranging from numbness to anger. There is no ‘normal’ way to react to loss but talking can help people to understand their feelings.
“All our groups offer a safe and trusted environment for those who are bereaved and provide them with a place to express themselves without judgment, while talking over a cup of tea with others who are also grieving. We are here to listen and ensure nobody feels alone.”
Rebecca has many years of experience, having run similar groups for the East of England Co-op Funeral Services across Suffolk.
“Providing assurance and support during emotionally difficult times is a responsibility we take very seriously. If one-to-one counselling is preferred, we are happy to do this at an East of England Co-op Funeral Services branch that is most convenient to you. We can also arrange to talk to you on the phone, whatever is most comfortable,” adds Rebecca.
The East of England Co-op Funeral Services has taken care of all aspects of funeral planning and arrangements for more than 90 years and has earned a reputation for its unrivalled levels of support for the community.
The Long Stratton Bereavement Support Group will be held on the first Tuesday of each month from 10.30am to 12.00pm at Long Stratton Village Hall, Ipswich Road, Long Stratton, NR15 2TA.
