Have your say

In this section

As a co-operative, we work with our members to make a difference. From helping us to decide where our funding goes through the Community Token Scheme, to voting in the elections for our Board of Directors, we want your voice to be heard.

Community Token Scheme

Our Community Token Scheme gives you a chance to have your say about how we support local groups and charities in your area.

When you make a purchase at your local Co-op we’ll give you a voting token. Simply pop the token in the box of your choice, and we’ll distribute £1000 between three local charities based on your votes.

And if a community group or charity that you support wants to be part of the Token Scheme, encourage them to apply! We’ll be choosing three new charities every three months, so there’s lots of opportunities to get involved.

Annual Members' Meeting

Our Annual Members' Meeting (AMM) takes place every year, usually in May. We invite all of our members to come along and hear about how we are performing, and to have your say.

The AMM gives you the opportunity to ask questions and help to make decisions about what we do next by voting on member resolutions during the meeting.

Every year we hold elections for our Board of Directors. The Directors are responsible for the governance, policy and strategic direction of the business, and are members just like you.

If you’ve been a member for 6 months or more, and have at least £1 in your membership account, you’re entitled to vote in the election for Directors. You can vote by post or online.

In order to vote, you’ll need to register. You can do this online or by contacting our Membership Support Team. Once registered, you’ll receive a voting paper and details of how to vote in late April/early May.

Join our Board

If you have the drive to help us succeed as a co-operative business, and care about your local community, why not consider standing for election to our Board of Directors?

Our Directors play a key role in the success of our business, and it can be a really rewarding experience. You’ll meet new people and gain valuable skills, all whilst helping a local, independent co-operative business to thrive.
