Motions for the AMM

In this section

Our Annual Members' Meeting is a great opportunity for our members to have their say on how our business is run.  During the meeting, there is an opportunity for members to vote on proposals on how we run the business. These are known as 'motions' and they are submitted by members in advance of the meeting.

Submitting motions for the meeting

Members are able to submit motions for the Annual Members' Meeting. If members wish to submit a motion for the Annual Members' Meeting, they must do so in advance of the meeting. Members must submit motions in writing to our Society Secretary, Jonathan Carey, no later than 21 days before the Annual Members’ Meeting.

You can submit your motion by emailing jcarey@eastofengland.coop or by writing to Jonathan Carey, Society Secretary, East of England Co-op, Wherstead Park, Ipswich, IP9 2BJ. Please allow time for motions to arrive with us if sending by post.

To vote on a motion

In order to vote on motions during the meeting members must be eligible to vote. Members who have been with the Society for over six months or more by the date of the AMM and have a minimum of £1 in their share account, can vote on motions during the meeting.

During the meeting, those who are registered and are eligible to vote will see voting options during the  event. If you are not eligible to vote, then you are welcome to attend the meeting and will see the motions being proposed but you will not be able to cast a vote.
