Tell us a little about yourself?
I'm Amy; I have been a Funeral Operative for almost 2 years and have been in the industry for the last 5 years. I started at 20 years old, and its been great being in this industry that allows quick development and the ability to try so many different role types.
What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about my job is the feeling of gratification from working as part of a team to help families through one of the most challenging periods of their lives.
What is it like working for a Co-op?
Working for a Co-op is great; you have a real sense of community and really feel like an extension of your family. It's never just about one person. The whole team is included and valued.
What advice would you give to someone looking for a career in the funeral industry?
If it's something that you are looking into, then I urge you to take the plunge, some days are complex, and the hours can be long, but the sense of pride and knowing you have done an excellent job makes up for all of that and more. Getting into the funeral industry is honestly the best thing I have done, and the possibilities are endless.
