Dann's Farm Ice Cream, Norfolk
Simon Dan and the team at Dann's Farm Ice Cream have been supplying East of England Co-op stores with ice cream and lollies since 2014.
Simon Dan, founder of Dann’s Farm Ice Cream, along with his family and team have been supplying East of England Co-op stores with their luxury ice cream and lollies since 2014.
Simon said: “Our Farmhouse Ice Cream range is where it all began. Our family have farmed over 700 acres in the village of North Tuddenham, surrounded by beautiful Norfolk countryside for five generations.
“As a farming family we appreciate the importance of knowing where our food comes from. That’s why we are passionate about using the finest ingredients possible in all of our products.”
All the milk and cream used in their ice creams and lollies comes from their own herd of 400 pedigree Holstein Friesian cows. They use free-range eggs collected daily from their own flocks of hens and gather all other ingredients from local Norfolk farms wherever possible.
“Over the last 18 months we have gone through a total rebranding exercise and introduced a range of iced lollies made using natural sugars and (real) fruit from Norfolk Farms. We recruited James Smith, a highly trained chef, to develop our new range of flavours, and have invested in new machinery and equipment,” explained Simon.
Customers can find Dann’s Farm Ice Cream in East of England Co-op stores across Norfolk, with their iced lollies available in all East of England Co-op stores across Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex.
Founder, Simon Dann, comments: “We are delighted that our luxury lollies are available to Co-op customers across Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. What makes us different to other ice lolly manufacturers is that we use real fruit, which are subtly blended for an intense but not over powering flavour”.
“These are picked seasonally so they’re at their optimum flavour. We believe that our ice lollies are only as good as the fruit we put in so we make sure these are all of the finest quality. We have a small allotment bursting with fruit and we also source from local farms in Sharrington, Rollesby and Kings Lynn.”
Whilst the colour of many well-known ice lolly brands fades when eaten, leaving just clear ice, Dann’s luxury ice lollies don’t do that. As fruit is the dominant ingredient, Simon confirms that each lolly will keep its colour and flavour to the last lick.
Not only have Dann’s Farm Ice Cream created amazing Luxury Ice Cream and Lollies, they have created two new full time positions within the business. Mr Dann says “I like to be able to support other farmers in the area by employing a team who come from local farming families, as this supports the local farming community and economy”.
