Old Abbey Farm
30 years of growing experience.

"We are a small family farm dating back at least three generations. We grow potatoes, sugar beet, barley, wheat, onions and of course, the asparagus that we supply to the Co-op. My father, now 90, is only recently retired and my son and wife are also involved in the farm.
"We have been growing asparagus for about 30 years and have seen many changes during this time, from when the ladies would walk the field with boxes and then head into the barn to manually trim the asparagus, to today where we use a tractor gantry on the field and a grading machine in the barn. It is however, still hard work for those involved with cutting on the field."
