Whether you favour rich Stilton, mature Cheddar or creamy goat’s cheese, the East of England Co-op offers a wide range of cheeses in its Deli-to-Go range, courtesy of Hamish Johnston Fine Cheeses.

After 15 years working on sheep and deer farms in France and then Oxford, Will Johnston - Director of Hamish Johnston Fine Cheeses, opened an independent store in London selling fine artisan cheeses in 1994. His business partner, Mark Newman now manages the store, allowing Will to move to Suffolk in 1999 to open the company's wholesale operation in Martlesham, near Ipswich.

“We have worked with the Sourced Locally team at the Co-op since 2009, which has really enabled us to expand our business,” said Will. “We source some of the best, award-winning cheeses from around the globe, but predominantly British and Co-op customers are clearly enjoying our offering.

“Sales have risen 1,200% since we started working with the team, which has given our business a massive boost. We have invested in specialist cutting equipment designed for our Deli-to-Go products and are proud that business is going so well we've been able to employ two new members of staff.”

Hamish Johnston cheeses are available in the Deli-to-Go counter of 47 East of England Co-op stores across Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex. Customers can enjoy its mild Brie at the special offer of £5.99 per kilo (ordinarily retailing at £8.99 per kilo) until 26th April 2015.
