10% off for all NHS workers & carers

We're proud to be offering 10% off to all NHS workers on purchases at our Food stores (excluding forecourts). We've now extended this 10% discount to care workers too, in recognition of their vital efforts.

Anyone with an NHS card or a green 'Care' badge is eligible for this discount. Our usual T&Cs apply.

Unfortunately we cannot offer this discount in our petrol forecourts.

We are currently accepting

If you would like to buy gift vouchers in order to purchase goods for a community group or to buy food for someone who is self-isolating, you can do so by emailing us at vouchers@eastofengland.coop

Food FAQs

  • Online shopping & home deliveries

We are not currently in a position to provide online shopping, an expanded home delivery service, or accept payment for goods over the phone.

  • Special shopping sessions

We have no plans at the moment to alter our opening hours or offer special shopping sessions for particular groups of people. We want to keep our stores open and accessible to everyone as they prepare for the coming weeks and months.

  • Stock levels

We are working tirelessly with our suppliers and partners to refill our shelves as quickly as possible. Our stores continue to receive regular deliveries, and our colleagues are working around the clock, so everyone has an opportunity to top up the items they need.

  • 10% discount for NHS workers & carers until further notice

We're proud to be offering 10% off to all NHS workers on purchases at our Food stores (excluding forecourts). We've now extended this 10% discount to care workers too, in recognition of their vital efforts.

Anyone with an NHS card or a green 'Care' badge is eligible for this discount. Our usual T&Cs apply.

Unfortunately we cannot offer this discount in our petrol forecourts.

  • Vouchers

While we won’t be accepting most coupons or vouchers, we will still accept the following:

    • Newspaper Subscription vouchers
    • Local Welfare & Assistance in Suffolk vouchers
    • Warm Home Healthy People vouchers
    • Healthy Start vouchers
    • East of England Co-op gift vouchers

If you would like to buy gift vouchers in order to purchase goods for a community group or to buy food for someone who is self-isolating, you can do so by emailing us at vouchers@eastofengland.coop

  • School meal vouchers (national voucher scheme)

In common with all Independent Cooperative Societies, we cannot currently accept the electronic National School Vouchers issued by Edenred since we do not have the technical capability at our till points.

We understand that schools have a responsibility to support pupils who may not be able to access stores that are not part of national programme.  Schools can purchase paper vouchers to use in East of England Co-op stores, please email vouchers@eastofengland.coop

  • Member cards

    We’re accepting membership cards again.

While keeping hold of your card, please present the barcode on the back to the till operator. If your card won’t scan, the till operator will not make contact with it. If this happens, please keep your receipts so that your dividend points can be added at a later date. We will write to members with more information on how we'll do this as soon as we can.

  • Green tokens

We have made the decision to stop giving our green tokens out for hygiene reasons. We are currently working on our community support approach. Please continue to check this page for the most up-to-date information.

  • Product limits in our foodstores

Despite much of our stock levels returning to normal, we still must enforce some purchase restrictions as demand for these products is still high.

Three items per customer on these items:

    • Paperware including tissues, toilet roll and kitchen roll
    • Hand sanitiser
    • Antibacterial soap
    • Antibacterial hand wipes and surface wipes

These restrictions mean we can offer these products to as many people as possible.

Please ask a colleague in store if you need further assistance but please bear in mind the 2metre rule.

Supporting our colleagues

We're doing everything we can to support our colleagues

🛑 Social distancing

We've introduced a series of measures to help us adhere to government guidance on social distancing:

🚧 Installing screens at every till

We're working as fast as we can to get these installed, and expect every till to have a screen in the next few weeks.

📄 Reminders in-store to keep your distance

This includes floor signage to help remind everyone to keep 2 metres from each other.

✋🏻 Restricting the number of people who can enter our stores

We're using dedicated queue marshals at our larger stores to help our colleagues to manage this.

🛑 We might temporarily close stores when we get a delivery

This will help our team to re-fill the shelves as safely as possible.

🤝🏻 Growing our team

We're recruiting temporary and permenant members of our team on a daily basis to help support our teams in Food.

You can find the latest roles here.

We've also reassigned as many colleagues as we can to our food stores to help keep our stores stocked, staffed and open as much as possible.

❤ A huge thank you to our team

Colleagues across our business are working around the clock to keep our branches stocked, staffed and open.

They're working around the clock on the front line and in our support services to help all of our businesses during this challenging time.

We've had lots of customers contact us with messages of praise, and have shared some incredible stories of how our team are going above and beyond. Please keep sharing these - we're passing on as many as we can.

Supporting our communities

How we're helping support those who need it most

The Coronavirus outbreak is the most significant challenge our community has faced for generations.

We're proud to be at the heart of our local community, and we want to do as much as we can to help those who need it most.

That’s why we've taken the decision to pause our usual programme of community support so we can introduce some emergency support for our community.
