In this section

Jack Brock is a Shetland pony with a big personality, who works hard to make a difference to those living with dementia in East Anglia. We have officially announced him as our Dementia Ambassador.

The ceremony took place Tuesday 22nd May at the East of England Co-op’s headquarters, Wherstead Park, Minnie Moll, Joint Chief Executive at the East of England Co-op, give a speech to mark the occasion before Jack was given a special Dementia Ambassador coat. There was also tea and cakes for all to celebrate, including a carrot cake especially for Jack.

As the region’s leading dementia friendly retailer, we work with Jack and his owner Ali Champion to support visits to people living with dementia and carers across the region, helping bring back memories and smiles to many faces and to start conversations to raise dementia awareness.

Since launching in 2015, our award-winning Dementia Friendly training programme has seen more than 6,000 colleagues trained to become Dementia Friends (that’s over 90% of our workforce) to assist those living with dementia in their communities.

Our friend Jack Brock is a fun-loving pony with a serious mission – to help support people affected by dementia. He might be little, but he makes a huge difference to the lives of people he meets on his adventures:
