Elmer’s Big Parade Suffolk!

Elmer’s Big Parade Suffolk is celebrating the 30th birthday of St Elizabeth Hospice and Elmer the Patchwork Elephant himself. It will take place for twelve weeks, from Saturday 15 June to Saturday 7 September 2019.

Throughout this time, visitors will be able to find 55 large Elmer sculptures, all individually designed and painted by a range of artists.

Meet Eleplant!

This veggie inspired design was painted by Devon Bhurke.

Where is she?

Eleplant can be found at Co-op Education Centre, Fore Street.

St Elizabeth Hospice and Elmer are turning 30!

The artists are a mixture of professional and amateur artists. For some this will be their first ever experience of painting a Wild in Art sculpture, others are seasoned veterans! The artists are from all over the UK but with some coming from the immediate local area. (and you know we love local here at the East of England Co-op)

The large sculptures have all been sponsored by businesses and organisations and at the end of the trail will be auctioned to raise money for St Elizabeth Hospice.

The large sculptures will be accompanied by herds of ‘young Elmers’ - the smaller sculptures that have been ‘adopted’ by schools and youth groups who have made a pledge to raise £750 each. There will be around 84 young Elmer’s, which will  be decorated by the school or youth group who has ‘adopted’ them. You can find out more about the young Elmer's here.

More than fifty large Elmer sculptures and one hundred smaller ‘young Elmers’ have recently taken up residency in a warehouse generously loaned to St Elizabeth Hospice’s latest art trail campaign by local independent retailer, the East of England Co-op.
