Tour companies and local community praise for Tiptree Travel.

It wasn’t only the staff at East of England Coop Travel Tiptree who were delighted with their Top Travel Agents award; their customers seemed even happier!

“We were amazed,” said manager Lisa Lightly. “When word got out that we were shortlisted in this competition we had lots of customers phoning or coming in, wishing us luck and wanting to hear how we got on.”

The final result was that they made it to the top five places for the East Anglia region. “We were sorry we didn’t win outright but, for a small local agency like us, to get so far was great news. And we were the only ones in Essex in the top five.”

This national competition, organised by the Travel Trade Gazette magazine, highlights agents who go the extra mile for customers, give great value and serve their communities. Over 950 agents entered and it’s judged by tour companies who rate entrants on performance, customer service and innovation. They obviously thought very well of East of England Co-op Travel Tiptree.

“Getting this response from tour operators is great news but the reaction of our customers is even more important. We’re only a small team here – just four of us – so it’s really a team effort.

“We have lots of regular customers and since this award, we’ve seen business increase considerably. It’s good to know we are very much a part of the Tiptree community and, who knows, next year we might win.”
