DWP Funerals

The Department for Work and Pensions – formerly known as The Department for Social Security – offers assistance to people who do not have the means to pay for a funeral and are in receipt of a qualifying benefit.

Whether or not a claim for financial assistance will be successful is dependent on a number of criteria related to the personal circumstances of the deceased’s surviving partner or person charged with arranging the funeral service.

Your Funeral Arranger can advise you whether or not your circumstances may meet such criteria and how to go about making a claim. Although the final decision with always be with the DWP.

As members of The National Association of Funeral Directors, we offer a simple funeral which is in accordance with their code of practice.
