How to enter

The East of England Co-operative Society photographic competition is open to all amateur photographers living in Norfolk, Suffolk or Essex at the time of entry.

The theme is ‘Visions of East Anglia’ and photographers must illustrate or capture scenes or landmarks in our trading area across the region.

Entries (a maximum of two) should be clearly marked with your name, address, contact telephone number and email address if available, stating where and when the photograph was taken.

Photographs should be supplied as unmounted 10x8 inch (approximately) landscape full colour prints and at a minimum of 300dpi and should be sent to: Visions of East Anglia Competition, East of England Co-operative Society, Marketing Department, 47 St.Helen’s Street, Ipswich, Suffolk IP4 2JL.

The closing date for entries is Friday 30th July 2010.

Terms and Conditions

The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence relating to their decision will be entered into.

The 12 individual winners will be awarded £50 worth of Co-op Gift Vouchers.

The winners will be notified by the Society and the full results will be published as soon as possible after the closing date.

We may request the winners to participate in post event publicity.

Entrants can submit up to two photographs.

The images may be digitally enhanced to remove spots and scratches. You can make the picture brighter or clearer etc., however the content must not be manipulated. The judges reserve the right to exclude any image they believe may have been excessively treated so as to alter its authenticity.

No entries can be returned and proof of posting is not proof of receipt. The organisers accept no responsibility for entries lost, damaged or delayed in the post.

All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrants must be the sole owner of copyright in all photographs entered and must have obtained permission of any people featured in the pictures.

Entrants will retain copyright in the photographs that they submit. By entering the competition all entrants grant the East of England Co-operative Society the right to publish and exhibit their photographs.

The competition is not open to East of England Co-operative Society employees.

There is no cash alternative to the prize.

Image Requirements

Ideally the image should have been taken using a camera with a sufficiently high resolution to allow the image to be reproduced at A4 size or above (at 300 dpi). We recommend that you use a camera of 4 mega pixels or more, if possible, enabling the image to be of sufficient size for reproduction.

If you are successful in being short-listed for the final round of judging, we may request your largest file (TIFF or JPEG) for judging and reproduction purposes.
