Local produce is miles better!
The East of England Co-operative Society’s major commitment to local sourcing is putting more local products on its food store shelves than ever before and saving thousands of food miles!
The appointment of a dedicated Local Sourcing Manager has meant that sales of locally sourced products have tripled in the past year and new lines and ranges are being introduced all the time.
Kevin Warden, Local Sourcing Manager said: “We work with the region’s top producers to provide quality products sourced within a few miles of our stores. As we only trade in the three counties of Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex we know the area well and are totally committed to giving our customers truly local products from most of our 134 food stores. We scour the area to find the best that’s available. Micro sourcing enables products to be sold just a few miles away from where they are grown or manufactured and the range and the demand from customers is growing all the time.”
Typically, an East of England Co-op food store will have products from Tastes of Anglia and also those sourced directly from other local producers and growers. |
