Co-op Community Groups, based around our local food stores, continue to organise social and educational activities for the membership as well as raising valuable funds for local projects. Members of the groups also assist with promotional activities in stores such as Fairtrade Fortnight, 'Members' Events' and late night shopping. With the ongoing development of these groups it enables the Society to further promote Co-operative values and principles also to extend the involvement of the membership throughout the trading area.

To date there are ten groups, at various stages of development, In the south of the trading area supporting their local communities. The groups are based in Brightlingsea, Burnham, Clacton, Colchester, Dovercourt, Halstead, Felixstowe, Horsford, Hellesdon, Leiston, Long Stratton, Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth, Earls Colne, Frinton, Walton, Tiptree, Wivenhoe and West Mersea.
