Ipswich and Norwich
The Society was an amalgamation of many smaller societies that have merged with their larger neighbours across Norfolk, Suffolk and north-east Essex. The merger between the Ipswich Co-operative Society and the Norwich Co-operative Society created a much larger Society that operated 75 foodstores, 3 department stores, 5 home stores, 8 pharmacies, 2 optical practices, 8 post offices, 15 funeral offices and a motor trade business. The Society was one of few that operated a large processing dairy.
