The East of England Co-operative Society is set to unveil its new look Food Store in Fronks Road Dovercourt following a transformation costing £920,000.
The store re-opens on Friday 25th June following a complete refurbishment, and with extended ranges of products on offer to customers and Members. Richard Samson, Chief Executive of the East of England Co-operative Society said: “Our Food Store in Fronks Road, Dovercourt is very popular and this major investment will improve the shopping environment for our customers and offer new and improved ranges.” Mr Samson added: “This is part of our continuing multi-million pound, self-funded development programme, which will see the building of new stores and improvements to existing ones right across East Anglia.” To mark the store’s re-opening there will be lots of special offers and promotions in store as well as a prize draw to win an LCD TV. There will also be the chance to sample some delicious local produce with local suppliers in store on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th including Harwich Beers, Peacocks Craft Bakery and Ken Green Fish. The Society will also be making donations to three local schools, to celebrate the re-opening of the store, and to support the local community where it trades. The improved store, which is also celebrating its 35th Anniversary this year, has a clean and bright new look, and has been fully refurbished, including new graphics incorporating the East of England Co-operative brand identity, and new energy efficient refrigeration units and lighting. The store will offer a new ‘Deli to Go’ range and ‘free from’ foods, as well as an improved in store bakery and selection of chilled beers and wines. There is also chilled, frozen and fresh produce in store, world foods and an expanding selection of locally sourced products. You can also pick up your newspapers and magazines, pay your bills by Paypoint, buy your lottery ticket, or take cash out at the ATM. In addition to the refurbished Fronks Road Food Store, the Society has recently completed major refurbishments at its Supermarkets in Burnham-on-Crouch and Frinton-on-Sea, as well as opening a new eco-friendly store in Hatfield Peverel. Work is also currently underway to refurbish the Society’s Halstead Supermarket, as well as building work starting in Wimpole Road, Colchester on a brand new food store expected to be completed within a year.
