Energy Saving in our Stores
Across our network of stores in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex we have introduced a variety of measures to help us save energy, and reduce our impact on the environment.
• Smart metering of gas and electricity to identify where energy consumption is higher than expected, investigating why and taking action to put it right
• Using LED lighting in our new stores and refurbishments
• Using energy efficient refrigeration and equipment in our new stores and refurbishments
• Fitting intelligent heating controls to larger properties
Our Society colleagues are also taking small steps which add up to make a huge difference. This Red Spot Campaign includes a variety of measures which not only save energy, but also help equipment to last longer, including:
• Turning lights off when not needed
• Turning off equipment when its not needed
• Closing doors to keep in the heat – or the cool from air conditioning
• Reporting faulty equipment – so it can be repaired to save energy
