Environment and Sustainability
As a responsible retailer, the East of England Co-operative Society is committed to reducing its impact on the environment. We have already begun to reduce our carbon emissions, and have committed to reducing these every year for the next five years.
We buy all of our electricity from green sources such as wind farms and hydro-electric generators, and use smart energy metering to monitor how this electricity is used.
When we build new stores, and refurbish existing stores, we use the latest technology to help reduce our energy consumption.
